A fund and support resource for researchers working on early stage projects with a clear translational impact focus. The University has been awarded an acceleration fund to diversify and intensify the support available to researchers across the medical, life and social sciences, working within the Wellcome science remit. The iTPA team will help identify, explore and develop nascent translational opportunities within their research, enabling further development of the projects to secure further funding and resources and achieve clinical, translational or commercialisation impact. The support provided includes: 1-2-1 mentorship and project support by the Wellcome Entrepreneur-in-Residence team at Edinburgh Innovations. Regular translational training and upskilling opportunities (open opportunities). A complete internal funding pathway for early stage projects. The pathway includes £1K, £5K and £20K awards with regular deadlines over the year (view more information and upcoming deadlines). The best way to stay up-to-date with iTPA and other relevant funding opportunities is to join the Translational Hub, an online translational research community focussed on researchers wanting to engage with translation.
