This is through workshops, 1:1 career development consultations, careers resources, building connections and links with employers to facilitate support and panel events around diverse career options, training and support around Narrative CVs and a dedicated Careers Month each year in June. The careers consultants also do outreach activity, providing quick queries and sessions at research staff society events.Careers support for researchersPrincipal investigators and research leadersWe provide training and support for all University of Edinburgh Principal Investigators (PIs) and research leaders, focusing on developing personal effectiveness, leading and managing people and teams, leading in complexity, and building positive research environments. We offer a range of research leadership training programmes, online resources, workshops, coaching, consultations, and guidance to meet individual needs and support PIs at different career stages to develop in their roles. It emphasises the importance of creating a positive research culture and environment that enables researchers to thrive and reach their full potential. The University of Edinburgh became a signatory to the Concordat in 2020. The University is required to develop action plans every 2-3 years, and report annually on progress and does this with support from a university level Concordat Implementation Group.
