What you'll do
This workshop is aimed at research staff wishing to learn more about the academic interview process. The workshop will cover what to expect at academic interview, how to prepare and give you a chance to practice interview questions in a group setting.

Who it's for
Research staff and teaching staff on fixed term contracts and academic staff on open-ended contracts with review dates (OERD).
This session is not open to academic staff on open-ended lecturing contracts.

What we'll cover
The session will outline how to prepare for an academic interview. We will focus on how to make a good impression and the types of interview questions that might be used.

After this session, you'll be able to:

  • understand what to expect at an academic interview
  • prepare more effectively for academic interviews
  • practise answering interview questions in a group setting
  • build confidence in making a good impression at interview
