Briefing Session: career decision-making

What you'll do
This online briefing session for research staff will introduce you to the most common causes of career indecision, ways to tackle them, and explore tools that can help you evaluate variables and factors important to you in your life and career.

Who it's for
Research staff and teaching staff on fixed term contracts and academic staff on open-ended contracts with review dates (OERD).
This session is not open to academic staff on open-ended lecturing contracts.

Why attend
Career decision-making is a complex, personal, and recurring process. This session is designed to help research staff better understand some of the factors that can make career decisions difficult and to explore practical ways of working through them.

After this session, you'll be able to:

  • understand some of the most common causes of career indecision
  • identify ways to tackle career indecision
  • explore tools to help evaluate the factors that matter to you in your life and career
