Briefing Session: narrative CVs

What you'll do
In this online session we will cover how the Narrative CV came to be, its format and the kind of information to include across its four main sections. We will also examine how these CVs can benefit those with non traditional career backgrounds. The session will last 45mins, followed by a 15min Q&A session.

Why attend
Narrative CVs are becoming increasingly important in research funding and academic applications, offering a broader way to evidence contributions, achievements and potential beyond a traditional list of outputs. For applicants with non traditional career backgrounds or a wider range of experiences, they can provide a valuable opportunity to present their work in a more rounded and strategic way.

After this session, you'll be able to:

  • understand how the Narrative CV developed
  • recognise the main elements and structure of a Narrative CV
  • identify the kind of information to include across its four main sections
  • understand how a Narrative CV can support applicants with non traditional career backgrounds

This session is facilitated by Eleanor Hennige.
