Making your data FAIR with Archiving What you'll do FAIR Data Principles are an essential framework for ensuring transparency and integrity in research as well as supporting responsible data management and sharing practices. This workshop will introduce researchers to the FAIR Principles and the ways they can be applied using UoE’s own data repositories, DataShare and DataVault. After this workshop participants will be able to: Understand the importance of the FAIR principles and the difference between FAIR and Open data. Know how to identify a suitable repository in order to make their research data FAIR. Know how to archive their data. Assess how well an online dataset conforms to the FAIR principles. Critically evaluate the FAIR principles in the context of case studies. Identify the benefits and limitations of applying the FAIR principles within their own discipline. Begin planning practical steps to make their data FAIR at each stage of their research project. Know what systems and support are available to facilitate data sharing and archiving.
