Narrative CV writing retreat

What you'll do
This writing retreat is aimed at staff currently writing narrative CVs for career or research-related applications who wish to make progress on these. The writing retreat will give participants dedicated time to work on their narrative CVs in a supportive environment, with opportunities to discuss and get feedback from peers. Facilitators will provide a brief introduction to narrative CVs outlining their structures and possible content. There will be opportunities to ask questions of facilitators, to discuss issues with peers, and gain information on further resources and support. Participants will leave the retreat having made progress on their narrative CVs and have the confidence and resources to complete these on their own.

What we'll cover
This writing retreat will:

  • Give you time and support to progress on a narrative CV
  • Provide an overview of narrative CV structures and content
  • Provide dedicated time to write
  • Provide opportunities for peer feedback
  • Give you resources and further information
  • Build confidence in completing a narrative CV

Why attend
Participants will leave the retreat having made progress on their narrative CVs and have the confidence and resources to complete these on their own.

Important to know
Participants should bring their own laptops and a narrative CV or template to fill out. Please note this writing retreat will not be catered for, but there will be coffee facilities nearby that can be accessed during breaks.

This writing retreat will not:

  • Give detailed advice on individual CVs
  • Give you templates
  • Give you example text to use in a narrative CV
