SRIN Privacy Notice

The Scottish Research Integrity Network (“SRIN”) is a collective forum with a focus on matters of research integrity, operated and managed by its members. This Privacy Notice explains how SRIN handles personal data

What information is gathered?

SRIN may collect, store and use the following categories of personal data:

  • information such as name, title, job title and contact details.

Retention

The personal data gathered is retained for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it is collected.

Reason personal data is collected

SRIN collects and processes personal data about its members, and about third parties with whom it collaborates in providing events, activities and programmes for its members, for the following purposes:-

  • administering the forum and maintaining our electronic records;
  • organising meetings and promoting events, activities and programmes;
  • administering events, activities and programmes including sending you papers and presentations by email; and
  • gathering feedback and undertaking strategic planning.

SRIN may disclose personal data about you to fellow members and to third parties with whom it collaborates in providing events, activities and programmes for its members.

Legal basis: Legitimate Interest

SRIN collects and processes personal data about you because as a representative of your organisation, you are a member of the further and higher education community with an interest in the field of research integrity and we would like to stay in touch with you and keep you informed of our activities.

Automated processing and profiling

SRIN does not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.
